In the process of the five-axis milling,ball cutter is widely used in the processing of thin-walled parts.The ruled surface is the most typical structure style in the structure of the thin-walled part.It is complicated to study the process of milling the ruled surface with the ball cutter because of many processing parameters and their influence each other in the processing.The milling force is one of the most important parameters in the milling process.It is an important foundation to establish the accurate milling force model to research the tool work-piece system and forecast the chatter and blade deformation in the milling process.Firstly,the milling force model is determined,which is related the milling force coefficient.Then the milling force coefficient and the edge force coefficient expressions can be calculated and obtained.The orthogonal optimization experiment is used to finish the milling experiment in this paper.The milling force time-domain waveforms have been obtained in the X,Y and Z directions.The linear regression equation of the milling force in the X,Y and Z directions can be presented,and the tangential,radial and axial milling force coefficient and the edge force coefficient are computed at last.Secondly,the work-piece coordinate system(WCS)and the tool coordinate system(TCS)are established.Two coordinate systems and the adjoining tool center point can be converted by the matrix transformation.On the basis of the analysis chip thickness model,the chip thickness vector expression can be established.The chip thickness parsing expression is acquired by coordinate system transformation and the correlation calculation of two tool center points.At the end,the cutting chip thickness simulation and analysis are completed with Matlab.Thirdly,the instantaneous rigid milling forces is modeled and calculated on the basis of the related assumptions,and combining with the former obtained results in the second and third chapters.The milling force simulation and calculation systemabout the ruled surface flank milling with ball cutter has been developed by using the VC++ and Matlab.At last,the milling forces are calculated and analyzed theoretically under different milling conditions by using the developed simulation and calculation system.Finally,the coordinate values of the cutter location points on the tool path can be obtained by using the interpolation calculation method.With the simulation program system,the milling force can be computed in the X,Y and Z directions,and the deformation can be analyzed in the cutter location points of the blade.
