Due to continuous research on difficult-to-machine materials,which makes superhard tools such as PCBN(Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride)tool more widely applied.PCBN tools have excellent heat resistance,high hardness and chemical stability characteristics,which make PCBN tools have an ascendency in the hard machining.Cutting parameters and the tool cutting performance directly affect the machining quality,tool life and processing stability.Therefore,it is very important to select cutting parameters and tools cutting performance,for machining efficiency and cost.The data from cutting process play a key role in parameters optimization and evaluation of cutting tool performance.With the continuous development of computers,the database has met that need.This thesis presents the analysis of hard cutting process and performance evaluation of PCBN cutting tools.Firstly,this thesis proposals the architecture of C/S(Client/Server)structure system from both system analysis and theoretical models.Then,based on the analysis of hard cutting process,the technical data are collected from cutting tools,machine tools,workpieces,cutting parameters.Moreover,after analysing requirements,function and performance of database system,the models of database are developed.Secondly,this thesis studies cutting law and establishes the appropriate database and development program to achieve the basic functions as query,update,delete,and modify,etc..It collects cutting experiment data,designs data storage model and achieves the import and export of data between Excel spreadsheet and SQL Server 2008.Thirdly,according to requirements of hard cutting parameter optimization,this thesis determines the optimization variables,objective functions andconstraints.According to the requirements of objective functions and constraints,based on the choosing principles of tools,cutting parameters and cutting fluids,establish hard cutting parameter optimization model.This thesis achieves optimization algorithm by using Genetic Algorithms.Finally,the thesis takes high-speed machining theory as the basis to study PCBN tools cutting performance,and selects the evaluation to establish evaluation system of PCBN tools cutting performance.The thesis establishes the cutting performance model of PCBN tools based on BP neural network and realizes cutting performance evaluation of PCBN tool.This thesis chooses SQL Server 2008 as data management software,C# as the programming language and Visual Studio 2008 as development environment,and uses ODBC interface technology connecting applications and database to establish the hard cutting database system.
