Polyimide/cadmium sulphide (PI/CdS) composite films keep the property of fluorescence of CdS and maintain the quality of light, folding resistance, certain mechanical properties of the polyimide, and have a broad application prospects in the organic light-emitting light, a photoelectric conversion light and catalysis aspects.In this paper, we take the polyimide film modified, with the way of ion exchange, and have the " solid-liquid " interface reaction to prepare PI/CdS composite films with fluorescence property. In this method, polyimide has been put into the KOH solution, leading to the surface of polyimide has the reaction of ring-opening and getting polyamide salt with K+ ions. Then put it into the cadmium ions in solution to form polyamide salt with Cd2+ ions, when meet with sulfur ions and the "solid-liquid" interface reaction will take place to form Pl/CdS composite films. The PI/CdS composite films are treated in the atmosphere of Air and N2, Another way is treated at different temperature. We set some facts of hydrolysis time, concentration of the salt solution, time and the heatting treatment temperature to control the structure and properties of PI/CdS composite films. The process has some advantages of low cost, simple to operate, little pollution and easily for large-scale production.When the polyimide film with surface loaded with cadmium ions was immersed into an aqueous solution containing sodium sulfide, cadmium sulfide and the polyimide surface in contact with an aqueous environment generated cadmium sulfide precipitation; while swelling polyimide polyamide acid amine surface gap of cadmium ions in the aqueous phase migration attraction sulfur ions down to the polyimide surface, and sulfide ions to form cadmium sulfide precipitation.PI/CdS composite films, which was prepared under different conditions, have the morphology of sheet, cubic, sphere.Besides, we prepare for polyimide/zinc tin oxide, even though it is not very good. From this one, we know not every semiconductor is suitable for PI. The most important thing is, if we want to have some good property onto PI, there must have force of ionic bond at first step.
