Thermoelectric materials is a kind of potential energy conversion device, which can convert heat into electricity. SnS possess the special orthogonal crystals at room temperature, and reflects the anisotropic thermoelectric properties. In this dissertation, SnS films prepared by electrodeposition which has low cost, synthesis large-area and simple process. We explored parameters, condition and mechanism of co-electrodeposition. Then adding surfactants to prepare SnS films and studied influence on thermoelectric properties with different texture.This study shows with K4P2O7·3H2O added, desposited potential of S becomes more positive, which can co-deposited with Sn. In the coating bath of 90mM K4P2O7·3H2O,30mM SnCl2·2H2O and 100mM Na2S2O3·5H2O, the n type single-phase SnS films were prepared successfully. The desposition process was kept 30?. At the applied potential is-1.0V. Adding surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate ?SDS? to prepared SnS films with preferred orientation along the ?001? plane, when concentration of SDS is 0.03 g/L, the composition of the films unchanged.The texture coefficient along the ?001? is 1.59. Adding surfactant hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide ?CTAB? to prepared SnS films with preferred orientation along the ?100? plane, when concentration of CTAB is 0.03 g/L, the composition of the films unchanged.The texture coefficient along the ?100? is 4.14. Adding surfactant carbamide to prepared SnS films with preferred orientation along the ?010? plane, when concentration of CTAB is 0.03 g/L, the composition of the films unchanged.The texture coefficient along the ?010? is 2.01.Therefore, adding different surfactants to control the texture of the SnS films.thermoelectric performance of ?100? textured SnS film is lower than thermoelectric properties of non-textured SnS film, and ?001? and SnS thermoelectric performance ?010? textured films higher than thermoelectric properties of non-textured SnS film. SnS film ?010? texture had the lowest and the highest pand PF, the electrical resistivity of 9.372×10-4 ohm·m, and the power factor reaches 2.619×10-4W·m-1 K-2. SnS can improve greatly the thermoelectric conversion efficiency, which provided good prospects with thermoelectric conversion fields this film.
