Denim has become the most popular clothing for customers through over a hundred years of development. The traditional indigo denim is classic, but with the evolution of fashion, the single indigo color is unable to meet consumers' demand. Under this situation, printing denim appears with rich colors and varied styles. The printing denim has injected new vigor to the market and also satisfied the market needs of personalization and diversification. Pigment printing and discharge printing are relative common in the market. Reactive printing has complete chromatography, bright color, soft handle and good color fastness. And combined with the denim washing process, it can form various washing effect which is superior to the pigment printing and discharge printing. But reactive printing on denim fabrics is a relative new technology, which lack of systematic research to guide the production. Because most denim fabric has dark indigo background, really thick and rough surface, which add resistance to dyeing, the reactive printing on denim is more difficult than ordinary reactive printing. How to make reactive printing denim has qualified color fastness and good color presenting is the main contents of this paper's experimental section, including the following parts:From the factors that affect the color fastness of reactive printing color, selecting the amount of urea, the amount of baking soda, steaming time and steam temperature to establish orthogonal experiment in order to investigate the optimization process parameters. When the amount of baking soda is 4%, the amount of urea is 10%, the steaming time is 12 min and the steaming temperature is 103 ?, the color fastness of reactive printing on denim fabric is best.Due to the particularity of denim fabric printing, reactive printing denim need to improve the dye concentration to get a better color. Through single dye experiment, it knows that most dyes can get saturated bright colors at 6% concentration and reducing the dye concentration to 2%-4% as needed can get a light color.Researching various commonly used denim washing ways to discuss suitable reactive printing denim washing process. Research result shows different washing process have different effects on reactive printing. Some washing process has no effect on printing, such as garment wash, enzyme wash; some bleached denim and brighten the printing, such as potassium permanganate bleach, monkey wash; some washing ways affect even destroy the printing, weaken the printing color, such as bleach wash.Based on the experiment results, designing some reactive printing denim products to show the various possibilities of reactive printing denim and provide a new direction of denim market. Reactive printing denim can present various performance through different kinds of washing processes, which has a profound significance to denim product development and enriching denim category. It has a broad market space and value-added products.
