In this thesis, relying on rational molecule design, specific chiral center was merged into the side chain of side-chain polyacetylene(SCPA) as well as tetraphenylethene(TPE), and thus a series of TPE derivatives and chiral SCPA with diverse alkyl chain length were synthesized. The molecular structures were determined by nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) and mass spectroscopy and the optical performance was identified by circular dichroism(CD) spectra and photoluminescence(PL) spectra. The main focuses were shown as list below:1. By employing Rh(nbd)Cl2 as the catalyst, a variety of chiral SCPAs with high molecular weight(Mw) and moderate polydispersity index(PDI) were achieved. CD spectra indicated the occurrence of Cotton effect when the wavelength went up through 300 nm, which implies that chiral effect has been amplified and successfully conveyed to the main chain. Moreover, when certain amount of water was induced into the polymer solution, the chirality of polymer P1 and P4 flipped. Meanwhile, it is delight to find that the polymer solution is of good fluorescence performance, which results from the formation of intrachain excimer.2. A series of room temperature, nonvolatile, chiral, fluorescent, liquid TPEs were prepared. CD spectra showed obvious Cotton effect after 300 nm and the signal was improved when bulky chiral centers or more chiral centers were attached to the luminogens. Also, it is interesting to find that all these TPE derivatives are of aggregation annihilation circular dichroism and aggregation-induced emission features. And all these compounds are thermostable and have a low glass transition temperature. Additionally, by blending with proper dopant, white emission was achieved.
