With the needs of the global clean energy development, the paper carry out a study based on the principle of induction hardening and heat treatment both domestic and abroad, focus on the process of single teeth induction hardening and preheat treatment for the big internal gear of the wind-turbine. Structure design, process, heat stress and other factors were analysed, then 42 CrMo was choosed as the raw material. For the internal ring gearDuring the quenching process, orthogonal experiment method was adopted to determine the optimal quenching temperature, along with 0.618 method to determine the optimal tempering temperature, then the Houghton AQ251 was using as the quenching medium. After quenching and tempering,the gear performed optimum mechanical properties.After mapping, profiling and modeling with ProE, the inductor for the gear ring was drafted and the experiments was carried out.Finally, with formula figuring and metallurgical analysis, the optimal process parameters for the continuous single teeth induction hardening of a internal ring gear was figured out.
