Fluorescent carbon nanoparticles which was found in recent years are a new kind of fluorescent nanomaterials, have the merits of a variety of preparation methods and wideraw material sources, etc. Its fluorescence has good stability,resistance to light bleaching, low toxicity and good biocompatibility as compared with traditional inorganic nanoparticles. Making fluorescent carbon nanoparticles have good application prospects in photocatalysis, information storage, biological imaging and biological sensors. At present, the development and design with special function of fluorescent carbon nanoparticles become the main research direction of the scientists. Using the surface modification technology can improve the material performance of fluorescent carbon nanoparticles significantly, such as processing formability and environmental response and so on. By using the reversible addition- breaking chain transfer(RAFT) method to modify polymer on the surface of fluorescent carbon nanoparticles, we prepared a series of fluorescent carbon nano hybrid material. The specific contents are as follows:1. Carbon nanoparticles grafed with copolymers of styrene and spiropyran with reversibly photoswitchable fluorescence were prepared though RAFT. This kind of fluorescent hybrid material can be prepared into fluorescent film and one-dimensional nano fibers due to their good processability. The fluorescence of the material can swited between blue, green and red under the irradiation of ultraviolet and visible light, and shows good fluorescence reversible control performance. It can be applied optics switch, information storage,anti-counterfeiting materials and other fields.2. A kind of good water-soluble fluorescent nano hybrid material was prepared by grafting isopropyl acrylamide and spiropyran copolymer to surface of carbon nanoparticles. The fluorescence of the aqueous solution can be swited between blue, green and red under the irradiation of ultraviolet and visible light and shows good fluorescence reversible control performance.It has good application prospects in the field of biological sensing and imaging.3.The surface of fluorescent carbon nanoparticles was midefied with the polymer of 3-acrylamidophenyl boronic acid and a kind of fluorescent carbon nano hybrid material with size between 3 ~ 4 nm prepared. The nano hybrid material has good fluorescence response performance in the p H range between 9.6 and 12.0.Moreover, the p H sensor also has good fluorescence stability and ion interference resistance which can be better applied to the analysis of p H in alkaline environment.4. 3-acrylamidophenyl boronic acid and 2-acrylamide-2-methyl-1,3–propanedio l were polymerized on the surface of fluorescent carbon nanoparticles. A ki nd of p H sensor works between 7.45 and 12.01 with good response perform ance was built. The sensor has good linearity which linear correlation was0.9932. It has well application prospect in the fields of biological and envir o-nment.
