Poly?butylene succinate??PBS? is a kind of typical completely biodegradable polymer materials. It has catch one's eye owing to its non-toxic, good heat resistance, high heat resistance, good biocompatibility as well as biological absorbability. However, PBS is the inherent flammability material,its burning high calorific value and burns down seriously,which limits its application in the field of electronic, automobile, etc. Consequently,there is a sustained interest in improving its flame retardancy to meet various endues applications. The main research content is as follows:1?First of all, PBS/Mg?OH?2 composites were prepared with the particle size from 20?m to 500 nm. The flame retardancy properties of PBS composites were estimated by the limiting oxygen index?LOI?, vertical fire testing?UL-94?, and cone calorimeter testing.Moreover, the residual char structure was analyzed to investigate the relationship between particle size and improved flame retardancy. Finally draw the Mg?OH?2-5um with a medium particle size resulted in the best flame retardancy.2?PBS need to add 40 wt %-60 wt % of Mg?OH?2.with a certain level of flame retardant.In order to reduce the filled Mg?OH?2 content, explore effective synergists. This chapter through the use of Mg?OH?2/EG synergistic flame retardant PBS, a kind of composite materials of PBS/20Mg?OH?2/5EG were prepared which has good flame retardant performance and mechanical properties. Not only reduce the addition ratio of Mg?OH?2, but also effectively suppress the "fly ash" phenomenon of EG.3 ? To further explore the synergistic flame retardant of Mg?OH?2, we prepared the PBS/Mg?OH?2/CB composite materials and studies its flame retardant properties, thermal stability and mechanical properties. The test results of the LOI and UL-94, cone calorimeter test, TGA, and mechanical properties show that the system PBS/20Mg?OH?2/5CB has good flame retardant performance as well as mechanical properties, which was a composite material with good comprehensive properties.
