In recent years, medical materials have got widely attention with the huge development of the medical industry. As a kind of medical material, research on titanium and titanium alloy is of great significance for its young's modulus(close to the human body skeleton), strong corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. Compared with pure titanium, the corrosion resistance ability of Ti-Pd is much better because of Pd element. Lot of research has proved that ECAP process can improve the corrosion resistance and bioactivity of pure titanium and titanium alloy, which on Ti-Pd is rarely reported.In this paper, Ti-Pd has been chosen to be the object of study. Electrochemical corrosion and the immersion corrosion experiment have been done on the Ti-Pd specimens after ECAP and heat treatment process. With electrochemical measurement technology, electrochemical corrosion experiment is used to acquire the tafel curves and ac impedance diagram which can evaluate the influence of different process on corrosion resistance of Ti-Pd. Immersion corrosion experiment is used to evaluate the influence of different process on bioactivity of Ti-Pd. With SEM, XPS, EDS,Characterization analysis results on Ti-Pd specimens after 60 days immersion corrosion(soaking in SBF solution + BSA) can be acquired.Conclusion as followed, electrochemical corrosion aspects: compared with the heat treatment process, the grain of Ti-Pd got much fine and the amount of low angle grain boundary got much more after ECAP process. Except that, the corrosion potential and corrosion current density is much high than Ti-Pd specimens after heat treatment process. It is proved that corrosion resistance of Ti-Pd after ECAP process is best. Through the immersion corrosion test, the quantity of titanium oxides and CaP compounds on Ti-Pd surface is most after ECAP process. It can prove that the bioactivity of Ti-Pd after ECAP process is much better than heat treatment.
