With the increase of mining depth, rock mass gradually show the soft rock characteristics under the action of high ground stress and complex geological conditions, so the expand proportion of soft rock roadways is rising, the roadway prone to large deformation and failure, and the problem will become more prominent especially for coal roadway in mining area, it has brought great difficulty to roadway support engineering, and affected the normal use of roadway and the safety production of the enterprise seriously. This dissertation took S2206 intake airway as the research object, which is a typical soft rock coal roadway in high stress mining area of Yuwu coal mine of Shanxi Luan Mining Group, the instability mechanism and support reinforcement technology for soft rock coal roadway in high stress mining area were studied systematically by use of comprehensive methods of field investigation, laboratory test, numerical simulation, theoretical analysis and field industrial test to alleviate the governance problem of soft rock coal roadway in high stress mining area. The main research contents and research results of this dissertation are summarized as follows:(1)The geological conditions and arrangement of the roadway were analyzed; the physical and mechanical properties and physical and chemical properties of surrounding rock of roadway were studied through laboratory test; the ground stress field distribution of the roadway area was analyzed; and the surrounding rock of roadway was classified.(2)Based on the occurrence conditions of surrounding rock of roadway, the numerical calculation model of the roadway was established, the deformation and failure characteristics of surrounding rock of the roadway were analyzed under the condition of excavation without support, and the instability mechanism of roadway was revealed, then the corresponding stability control principle of surrounding rock of the roadway was put forward through theoretical analysis.(3)The deformation and failure of surrounding rock of the roadway was analyzed by use of the existing supporting design, the shortcomings and vulnerabilities of existing supporting design were found out, the reinforcement schemes were put forward according to the field situation, and the best reinforcement scheme was selected by use the method of numerical simulation. After the reinforcement scheme was implemented,the reinforcement effect was investigated by use of a variety of monitoring methods.The monitoring results showed that after using the reinforcement scheme, the deformation and failure of surrounding rock of roadway reduced greatly, the supporting was in better stress state, which could keep long-term stability of roadway and ensure safe production of the enterprises, and could reduce the costs of roadway repair for the enterprise, create a certain economic benefits, and could provide a certain reference for the similar governance projects of high stress soft rock coal roadway.
