The thesis is based on the lab experiments that are about enhanced oil recovery with high molecular weight polymers. Researches were carry out on different viscoelastic jumping points caused by different polymer concentrations. Meanwhile, factors, such as swept volume and viscosity ratio, were deeply studied on enhanced oil recoveryResults showed that firstly, viscoelasticity reached peak value when concentrations of high molecular weight polymer increased. Secondly, all parameters of characterized elastic increased when concentrations of high molecular weight polymer increased. Finally, recovery factor enhanced after high molecular weight polymer's injection, due to increased concentration, higher viscoelasticity and reduced oil/ polymer viscosity ratio. The mechanization of polymer flooding was fully researched by the thesis. This thesis could also help to make polymer flooding more effective and economic in practice, even in developing basic theory of polymer flooding.
