Propylene oxide (PO) is the third largest propylene derivatives except polypropylene and acrylonitrile, It is an important basic organic chemical synthesis of raw materials, mainly used for the production of polyether, propylene glycol, etc. It is also the fourth generation of the main raw material of detergent non-ionic surfactant, oil demulsifier, pesticide emulsifier, etc.The most important purpose of styrene (SM) is the monomer of compounding rubber and plastic, styrene (SM) is used for the production of styrene butadiene rubber, polystyrene, polystyrene foam, also used for the copolymerization with other monomers to make a variety of engineering plastics of different uses.The production methods of epoxy propane combined styrene are:firstly, ethylbenzene and oxygen occur peroxidation to generate hydrogen peroxide ethyl benzene under the action of molybdenum dioxide as catalyst; Secondly,hydrogen peroxide ethyl benzene and propylene occur epoxidation to generate epoxy propane, and generate benzyl ethanol under the action of Molybdenum oxygen piperidine as catalyst; finally, benzyl ethanol dehydrates to generate styrene and water under the action of titanium dioxide as catalyst. such production method has been fully researched, it is comparatively mature industry production method and the domestic existing large-scale industrial production. the method is safe, environmental protection, high efficiency, high reliability, less by-products, good selectivity, high yield, besides considering operating conditions and the cost of production factors, this design chooses this kind of production methods in order to realize the industrial production.This design determines the reasonable production process to produce 240000 tons of epoxy propane and styrene; With the help of Aspen Plus,the entire production process simulation (material balance, heat balance) of annual output of 240000 tons of epoxy propane and styrene has been finished,and the optimal process design parameters has been obtained; With the help of Cup Tower software, the rectifying column has been simulated, and the rectification tower process size has been obtained; With the help of Aspen Exchanger Design and Rating, the heat exchanger has been simulated, and the heat exchanger process size has been obtained; With the help of Intelligent choice pump software, and the pump model has been obtained; With the help of sw6-98 software, the equipments such as reactors, rectifying towers, heat exchangers has been checked; Process calculation of typical equipment has been,in detail,finished, and the process parameters of the equipment have been obtained; The plant general layout, instrument and process flow diagram, workshop equipment level elevation layout and typical equipment assembly drawing has been drawn by Auto CAD software; The three-dimensional layout of the workshop has been drawn by Autodesk PDmax 2.0 software.
