Costume, in ancient time, is not only something people wear to cover body and show sense of beauty, but also a carrier showing the cultural and political feature of its age. Unlike male, female under the rule of patriarchy feels more restrictions from the ruling class. After studying through the material data of female costume in Han Dynasty, I find that the female figurine’s costume has the longest time span and perfect shape. Therefore, this article, based on the costume of Han’s female figurine, classifies the costume into two basic types:deep clothing and Ru skirt. Also, in this article, the wooden figurines are treated as the supplementary instruction of pottery figurine. This article tries best to recover the original appearance of Han’s female figurine costume. In Han dynasty, the deep clothing is the major type of the female figurine costume. The "Qu" deep clothing disappeared after late western Han dynasty. The "Zhi" deep clothing existed till eastern Han dynasty, and fused with Chinese gown in late western Han dynasty. In aspect of the hair accessory, it changed from the "Zhui Ma" bun in the early western Han dynasty to High bun in the late eastern Han dynasty. The costume was tightly wrapped in a body in early western Han dynasty. It became more and more loose at late western Han dynasty. When it came to the middle-late of the eastern Han dynasty, the costume was even larger in size.In addition, considering the female figurine’s position and status, and the role they have played, this article deeply analyzes the female’s life and the society reflected by the female figurine costume. The conclusion is:female figurine’identity is maidservant. They have very low social statue and obvious internal hierarchy. Their beautiful costumes show the financial power of the owners, which demonstrate to us the luxury life in Han dynasty. In the end, this article put forward a thinking:an important factor that influences the change of costume is the political ideology and social culture. The significant change of Han’s costume happened in the period of the late western Han dynasty and the early eastern Han dynasty, which is calledWangmang’s Xin Dynasty in Chinese History. Whether the change of costume relevant to it is a problem to discuss. In the last part, a comprehensive summary to the full text and in-depth analysis of this article are given. It deepens the argument of this article and put forward a further thinking.
