In this research, hydrotalcite, ferrous chloride, ferric chloride are chosen as raw material to synthesize magnetic hydrotalcite with special structures and functions. The product was characterized by Scanning electron mircroscope, Powder X-ray diffraction and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. In a single aqueous solution, the ability of removal Cu(?) or Cd(?) was effected by different adsorptive condition. Then thier performances on removing Cu(?) or Cd(?) was studied. At last, the adsorption mechanism was discussed. The main conclusions were summerized as follows:(1)Comparing with the adsorption capacity of LDHs, LDO, Fe3O4 and magnetic hydrotalcite. The results of the adsorption capacity:magnetic hydrotalcite?LDO> LDH>Fe3O4.(2)In the process of preparing magnetic hydrotalcite, optimal synthesized conditions:hydrotalcite was calcined five hour at 500?, then mix together ferroferric oxide with the mass ratio of 0.6:1. Hydrotalcite was Calcium aluminum oxide with extremely few impurities. The basic parameters of magnetic hydrotalcite:specific surface area was 68.18m2/g, average grain diameter was 74.53A, pore volume was 0.13cm3/g which increased the contact area with heavy metals. Mineralogical phase components contained Ca4Al2O6Cl2·10H2O, Ca2Al(OH)6Cl2·2H2O, Ca2(Al/Fe)2O5, Ca0.15Fe2.85O4, Ca3Al2O5-×H2O and Ca(Al/Fe)12O19.(3)The adsorption capacity of magnetic hydrotalcite for Cu(?) and Cu(?) could compound system of Cu(?) and Cu(?) aqueous, the adsorption capacity of magnetic hydrotalcite for Cu(?) and Cu(?) was same with the results of LCA model.(4)The adsorption mechanism of magnetic hydrotalcite for Cu(?) and Cu(?)relied on electrochemical adsorption and chemical precipitation.
