Zirconia is the top class insulating material due to its highlights like the high temperature stability and the good heat insulation properties.In the manufacture,the products of the zirconia fibers are widely used in the linings of the furnaces,with a good heat preservation effect.The organism existing in the nature,undergoing a long-term evolution process,have formed the unique structures and special performances function of materials.In recent years,researchers have explored the use of natural organisms as templates to prepare unique structures,and the structures can be controlled of the materials,and hope that through these unique structures to give the material excellent performance of the method.In this paper,the theories of biological template was adopted,with taking the biological plant fibers,cotton as the template,impregnated into the zirconium salt solution of different experimental parameters,dried and sintered at high temperatures.The solid and hollow zirconia thermal insulation ceramic fibers with the same structures of template fibers were obtained by impregnation method using cotton and viscose fibers as the template materials.The main contents of this paper are as follows:?1?The zirconia thermal insulation ceramic fiber was prepared by using the method of morph-genetic method,taking the cotton and viscose fiber as templates.We have studied and discussed the effects of different process conditions?fiber template,zirconium source,concentration,impregnation time,and sintering temperature?on the morphology of the resulting fiber materials.?2?The thermal conductivity of zirconia thermal insulation ceramic fibers were tested,and the influence of different process conditions on the thermal insulation properties of the fiber was analyzed.?3?During the process of the preparation of hollow zirconia thermal insulation ceramic fibers,the reason of the formation of the hollow structures was analyzed,and the influences of mass ratio of tin tetrachloride to polyvinylpyrrolidone?S/P?and the sintering temperatures on the fibers' micro-structures were studied.?4?The thermal analysis,element analysis and pore size distribution of zirconia thermal insulation ceramic fibers were used to studied the reaction process of preparing zirconia fiber with cotton and viscose fiber as the template,the chemical element analysis and the pore size distribution.The theories of biological template were introduced in preparing the ZrO2 heat-insulating fibers in this paper.The ZrO2 fibers retained the structures of the fiber templates with high fidelity.This method provides a new idea to obtain efficient heat-insulating ZrO2 fiber materials,and will broaden scope of the research of morph-genetic materials.
