Biological removal of iron and manganese with activated carbon/manganese sand and development of equipment of real-time monitoring automation technology dissolved oxygen were tested and constructed based on the theories of biological removal of iron and manganese.The factors such as operation parameters,process automation and some engineering technology were also investigated in this experiment.In these areas,the equipment centralized settlements and integrated groundwater purification technology,which could have a good prospect of application in single households,apartments and small factories.(1)We obtained quick start of training activated carbon/manganese sand biological filter equipment.The method with using bioaugmentation technology concerning biomass and filter materials,in low-speed conditions up-flow filter inlet training and maintenance of biological filter layer oligotrophic ecosystem,can promote the rapid maturation of biological filter layer.(2)According to dual-media distribution rule of iron,manganese and special biomass,the simulated column,which was filled by activated carbon/manganese sand,avoiding the traditional homogeneous,graded filter layer on the surface of the filter layer of iron and manganese removal concentrated phenomenon,and gradually improved the removal efficiency at upper filter by fully using the filter bed space,extending the duty cycle of the biological filter layer,slowing the rate of increase in head loss.(3)Comparison of energy consumption by aeration as following:jet pump aeration>spray aeration ? aeration tower aeration>down water aeration.Given the biological removal of iron and manganese on the DO demanding,using a simple form of aeration to meet demand of DO in the process of biological removal of iron and manganese in the filter requirements.Water aeration and spray aeration were simple in the form,which could save a lot of energy.(4)To achieve real-time monitoring and automatic control of dissolved oxygen in the equipment of biological removal process of iron,manganese,we create a control node,following the real-time oxygen concentration,to adjust the filtration rate and avoid high concentration of oxygen.And the automation system can be dissolved in accordance with changes in the biological filter layer.If a lot of water under the conditions of Fe2+ oxidation and inhibition of iron,manganese bacterial activity,and real-time will alarm or an emergency shutoff to control under low oxygen conditions,which led to iron and manganese oxide layer is not completely filtered water leads to non-compliance improving the stability of the biological filter layer.
