The syngas with high CO concentration and high water-gas ratio, produced by pressurized gasification of pulverized coal, requires the carbon monoxide sulfur-tolerant conversion device for a higher reaction depth. Therefore, it brings new requirements and challenges for the water-gas shift reaction in the aspect of temperature control and heat utilization. The RK-Soave equation of physical properties was used to stimulate the carbon monoxide shift unit under the conditions of 24019kmol/h,210.4?,4.0Mpa. For the carbon monoxide shift unit built in the plant, the results were in good agreement with the actual operation results. For the proposed carbon monoxide shift section, the results were in good agreement with the design results. For the medium-low water-gas ratio of the carbon monoxide shift process, the temperature and the CO content of the reactor outlet decreased with the increase of the water-gas ratio of the feed gas. For the low water-gas ratio shift process, when the water-gas ratio of the feed gas increased, the temperature of the reactor outlet increased, while the CO content of the reactor outlet decreased. For the two kinds of shift process, in the initial stage of the catalyst, when the inlet temperature of the reactor decreased, the expected reaction depth can also be reached. While at the end of the catalyst, the inlet temperature of the reactor should be increased in order to reach the expected reaction depth. For the carbon monoxide sulfur tolerant shift with high CO concentration and high water-gas ratio, we must control the water-gas ratio and reaction temperature. The medium-low and low water-gas ratio shift process, with a flexible operation and reliable application, can meet the process components requirements and recover more heat at the same time, which are the optimal choices according to the specific circumstances of the steam in the whole plant.
