With the development of shale gas mining technology, catalytic dehydrogenation of propane has gradually become an effective way to improve the yield of propylene.A commercial propane dehydrogenation catalyst is adopted in this study. Its composition and structural properties are characterized by ICP-AES,HAADF-STEM,SEM-EDS and XRD.The composition and quantification of cokes formed on the catalyst are determined by pyrolysis GC-MS,Raman spectrum and TG.Kinetics of dehydrogenation and coking reaction are built. The results show that the catalyst used here is ?-Al2O3 supported Pt,Sn,K and Ca,which are evenly distributed in the carrier. The catalyst shows highly propene selectivity and structure stability during the reaction-regeneration cycles. The developed kinetic models are as follows:Dehydrogenation:Cracking:Deactivation:Coking on metal:Coking on the support:Cokes formed on the catalyst are a compound which is composed of C8-C33 long chain alkanes, poly aromatics and graphitized materials. The results obtained here is valuable for designing and optimizing propane dehydrogenation process and the development of catalyst with higher performance.
