In this paper,the main production methods of styrene in the world are introduced,and the technological processes are compared.The Jilin petrochemical 320,000 tons/year styrene device chooses the ABB Lummus/UOP EBOne process and typical SM styrene technology.This technology is mature,advanced and reliable,low consumption,less environmental pollution,and the product quality is high,have stronger competition ability.The ethylbenzene/styrene separation column DA-401 is a key device of separating the reaction product of ethylbenzene dehydrogenation.When the dehydrogenation liquid through the tower,each component is separated by the gradual vaporization and condensation.The light volatile components such as ethylbenzene,a little benzene and toluene are steamed out from the top of the tower,and the styrene,other restructuring points such as polymer and high boiling substances are taken out from the bottom of the column,so that the ethylbenzene and styrene as two key points are separated.In the design of the tower under the load of 100%,the top styrene content is less than 2 wt%,and the bottom of the tower ethylbenzene content is less than 480 mg/kg.In the actual production,the separation performance of the tower is not good,which seriously restricts the material consumption,energy consumption,product yield and quality of styrene plant.In order to improve the separation efficiency of the distillation column,we find the root cause of the decline in the efficiency of the tower by the technical analysis,process simulation calculation and internals fluid mechanics calculation and test of flow distribution and other means,and develop a targeted technical transformation program.Through the technological transformation of gas-liquid distributor and other parts,the tower separation effect is improved obviously,the performance indicators are up to the design requirements,the desired goal is achieved.
