Mesoporous carbon materials generally possess abundant pore structure and surface chemistry and could interact with many molecules and ions in mesoscopic level,which have good adsorption and catalytic application prospect.Advanced material preparation technology has been developed in recent years,giving unique structure characteristics and various potential applications.However,few works has consciously tailored the internal structure and macro profiles of materials,to make its application in various fields.In this work,the advantages of liquid phase synthesis and particle engineering technology are combined to achieve the controllable preparation of mesoporous carbon spheres?MCS?and coordinated regulation of the micro/macro structure.On this basis,metal chlorides and nickel chloride/copper oxide are loaded on MCS to develop highly efficient deodorant materials for NH3 and H2S removal.The main conclusions in this papers are as follows:?1?The as-prepared MCSs possess millimeter size in macro-level,good degree of sphericity,smooth surface,high mechanical strength and wear resistance,low ash content,good hydrophilicity and specific surface area of 1036 m2/g.The pore volume is 2.48 cm3/g,and the strength of single MCS is greater than 12 N.?2?Acidulous metal chlorides?NiCl2,CuCl2,MnCl2,ZnCl2?impregnated MCSs adsorbents?MCS-XCl2?are prepared by a conventional wet impregnation method.The results show that NiCl2 impregnated MCSs?MCS-NiCl2-30?possess specific surface area of 533 m2/g and pore volume of 1.49 cm3/g and NiCl2 are dispersed on carbon framework in the form of ultrafine nanoparticles.The NH3 breakthrough capacity of MCS-NiCl2-30 reaches 111.4 mg/g at 30? with a relative humidity of 80%,which is 5-6 times of commercial activated carbon based adsorbents?ACS-NiCl2-30?.Moreover,MCS-NiCl2 display good regeneration perfomance of NH3 adsorption.After ten cycles,the material persistently present excellent ammonia capacity.Also,humidity has the good effects on NH3 adsorption.?3?On the basis of MCS-XCl2,alkalescent metal oxide CuO or MgO are further introduced onto MCSs for co-removal of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide at room temperature.The results show that MCS-NiCl2/MgO display the excellent hydrogen sulfide catalytic performance,but for the adsorption of ammonia is limited.MCS-NiCl2/CuO possess good ammonia capacity of 45.5 mg/g and hydrogen sulfide capacity of 680 mg/.Moreover,MCS-NiCl2/CuO display good regeneration performance of NH3 adsorption.The prepared adsorbents exhibit a broad application of removing odor gases.
