Rotating packed bed(RPB)is an efficient mass transfer and reactor.The RPB packing is the core part of gas liquid mass transfer in the rotating packed bed.In the dust removal and other impurities containing chemical process,traditional wire mesh and random packing are prone to clogging and mass unbalance,which lead to increased gas-phase resistance,poor dynamic balance of equipment and gas-liquid maldistribution and other issues,and these problems also pose challenges to the long,efficient and stable operation of the equipment.In this paper,we designed and developed a kind of cross-flow large channel regular plate packing to solve these problems.By changing the porous wire mesh packing into porous large channel plate packing,it can achieve characteristics of anti-clogging and dynamic balance and stability.Ultimately the new type of plate packing can achieve high mass transfer characteristics under low pressure drop.Firstly,the CFD technique was used to study the effect of plate packing on the fluid.The results show that the installation method of new plate packing(plate scale,plate inclination angle and angle)has an effect on the fluid,which has the effect of disturbing the gas phase and prolonging the gas residence time.It also has the effect of film formation and atomization effect on liquid.The above mechanisms are both beneficial to mass transfer process intensification and gas-liquid mixing performance improvement.The experiment of pressure drop was made in a new type of rotating packed bed with water-air system,and the hydrodynamic performance of a new type of rotating packed bed was mainly discussed.Single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment was used to investigated effects on the performance of pressure drop in a new type of RPB on speed N,fluid volume L,gas volume G,circumferential plate number N1 and radial plate N2.The results showed that the new type of rotating packed bed had low pressure drop performance which changed in the range of 25~275Pa;?P both increased with all factors increased.When the radial plate number was 4 and the circumferential plate number was 5,the pressure had the drop inflection point,then the trend tend to flat;Orthogonal experimental results showed that the gas volume G was the most important factors of pressure drop.And pressure drop increased with the gas volume G like parabola,and speed N and the liquid volume of L had little influence on the pressure drop.The radial plate and circumferential plate had interactions which affected the performance of the gas drop performance together.Compared with different literatures,the pressure drop of the new plate packing is lower that that of split packing about 91.25 ~ 93.75% and ziazag packing about 84.28 ~ 91.67%,respectively,which shows the better pressure drop performance.The mass transfer performance study of a new plate rotating packed bed was carried out with NaOH-CO2 as absorption system,single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment were also used to investigate the effects of N,liquid L,gas G,N1 and N2 on the mass transfer performance of the new plate packing.The results show that the new plate rotating packed bed could enhance the mass transfer effect to a certain extent,k La varied from 0 to 4.3s-1 and the increased with the increasing of the each parameter.The orthogonal experiments showed that the influence of each parameter on k La was close,and the influence of radial plate number was the biggest,which indicated that the atomization shear effect of the radial plate on the liquid phase has a little influence on the mass transfer effect,while the radial plate and the circumferential plate impacted the mass transfer performance of packed bed in the form of interactive combinations.Compared with different literatures,the mass transfer coefficient of the new plate packing is about 70.4% ~ 88.1% higher than that of the split packing,meanwhile it is about 89.5% ~ 95.0% higher than that of the cross-flow multi-stage centrifugal atomization packing showing excellent mass transfer performance to some extents.In order to compare performance between the new plate rotated packing and traditional rotated packing,this paper carried on a comparative experimental study on the same rotating packed bed with the new plate packing,Pall ring packing and wire mesh packing.The results showed that the mass transfer performance of the wire mesh packing bed was optimal under the same operating conditions,and it was higher than the mass transfer performance of a new plate packing to an average of 0.45~1.2.The mass transfer performance of the new plate packing and Pall ring packing was close,and the average difference is 0~15%.Gas pressure was always an important factor affecting the pressure drop of various packed bed.Under the same operating conditions,there was always ?Pwire> ?PPall> ?Pnew,and the difference between the pressure drop of the wire mesh packing and the new plate packing was more than 0.14~0.38.Indicating that the new plate rotating bed can achieve low pressure drop in the loss of a certain mass transfer efficiency.Finally,this paper studied the practical application of the new plate packing bed on removal of hydrogen sulfide and dust removal.The results showed that under the same conditions,the new plate packing can achieve desulfurization rate of 85%~94.2% and dust removal rate can be up to 89.3% ~95.3%,which basically meet the general industrial needs.
