Air filter becomes the most commonly used particle pollutant removal device in the homes, offices, workshops and other closed spaces, because it can remove particulate contaminants from the air quickly and effectively.High-efficiency air filter materials are the major part of air filter, and determine the filtration accuracy of air filter.Glass fiber filter paper and meltblown electret non-woven filter material are the most commonly used two types of high-efficiency filter materials in air purifier.Glass fiber filter paper with compact network structure, small pore diameter and high dust holding capacity, has remarkable filtration effect on particulate contaminants. However,it also has poor moisture resistance,is easy to generate gaseous boron pollution in the acidic conditions, and is hard to deal with used materials;Meltblown electret non-woven filter material is able to remove particulate contaminants from air, with high efficiency, low resistance, safety and energy-saving,easy to deal with wastes-due to its own electrostatic force. However, with the accumulation of particles and the extension of time, electrostatic force reduced and filting efficiency decreased; After a long using time, both of them will accumulate a lot of particles in surface and deep layer.Conventional methods is hard to clean it up,since loss of resource. However,as the representation of the membrane filter technology,PTFE membrane filter material can not only achieve high efficiency, but also can be cleaned and reused,it will greatly reduce the cost and promote sustainability of industry. This paper studies using PTFE membrane and meltblown non-woven material to prepare highefficiency filter material which can be used in air purifier.Filteration material has the characteristics of high-efficiency,low-resistance,and is washable and cleanable. In order to prepare the filter material, the manufacturing process of composite filter is studied,in which the PTFE membrane is set as the filter layer and the PET/PP based material is set as the supportive layer, and the relationship between the properties of the composite filter and other factors are also discussed, and compared with commercial high-efficiency filter media. Results from the above research is as follows:(1)Compared with adhesive bonding technique,on-line composite technique and hot vulcanization technique, the hot calendering technique is more suitable for low-weight meltblown non-woven material. Also,PTFE membrane/PP meltblown non-woven composite filter material has stable structure and high bonding strength.(2)Compared with PP meltblown non-woven material,PET/PP bi-component meltblown nonwoven material is more suitable as supportive layer,PTFE membrane/(PET/PP)bi-component meltblown non-woven composite filter material has high-efficiency and low-resistance.The filtration performance of composite filter is attributed to the characteristics of PTFE membrane.(3)The construction and filtration efficiency of composite filter material are influenced by the hot calendering technique. The filtration efficiency and pressure drop of composite filter materials are 99.95% and 350 Pa,respectively, when the composite filter contains 30/70 of PET/PP,the 150? of temperature,8m/min of linear velocity and 180N/cm2 of pressure.(4)Compared with commercial air filter materials, performances of PTFE membrane/(PET/PP)bi-component meltblown non-woven composite filter material basically meets application requirements. The results indicate that composite filter material can be waterable, cleanable, and reused. With the improvement of membrane production technologies and reduction in production costs,PTFE membrane/(PET/PP)bi-component meltblown non-woven composite filter material has broad prospects in the field of high-efficiency filter media for air purifiers.
