Resistance spot welding(RSW) is one of the most widely-used processes employed for sheet metal assembly, which is favored in large-scale manufacturing industries such as the automotive and aerospace industries due to its high speed and good adaptability to automation in high-volume and high-rate production.Within a short span of time for the nugget formation the weldment material undergoes expanding, yielding and melting process, and diverse disturbing factors and their interactions influence the welding process, so it is difficult to accurately control the quality of spot welding.In this paper, we will improve the quality and precision of spot welding based on the three parts of the pressure device and control device.In the part of the pressure device,servo pressure will replaces traditional compression methods such as pneumatic compression, spring pressure and so on, to design the maximum pressure 5KN. Pressurizing mechanism adopts Panasonic MDMA series servo motor as the power plant and adopts ball screw as the main transmission mechanism,transfors rotation for the reciprocating motion of the electrode.The structure is simple and compact,in the mean while the verification of intensity and stiffness meets the design requirements. In the guide part, the light bar of the servo pressure mechanism is replaced by the slide block as the guide rail, and the pressure stability is improved effectively.In the part of the control device,according to the servo pressure mechanism and the characteristics of the inverter spot welding system, developed to arm cotex-M3STM32F103VET6 as the main control chip to achieve precise control of inverter and servo pressurizing mechanism and man-machine interface and communication.Devine touch screen as man-machine interactive terminals are selected, according to Diwen touch screen HMI instruction set to write the touch screen procedures,including welding parameters setting, monitoring system, setting up system of the fault diagnosis, data transmission interface. In the software, the C/OS-II real-time operating system is introduced, and the code for the C/OS-II porting process is given.This article designs a servo pressure based on intermediate frequency inverterspot welding equipment, with servo pressure, high precision, fast response.It provides effective technical support for the manufacture of servo pressure equipment..
