In the early 20 th century the ratio of positive ions and negative ions in the air is 1/1.2.A century later,however,that is significantly changed to 1.2/1 because of the increasing of population and environmental pollution,which means that our living environment is severely lack of negative ions.Applied the technology of negative ions to fiber products can improve the current situation of the priority of positive ions.This paper prepared two kinds of anion fibers by different methods,copolymerization and post-processing respectively.The fiber made by both of them can achieve more than 500 /cm~3 of static anion release quantity.Copolymerization for negative ion fiber prepared by melt spinning of polyester chips gained by adding anion additives to the copolymerization process between terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol.Through the adjustment of process parameters,we prepared 1.56 dtex fiber with anion releasing,far-infrared emission,anti-flaming functions.The results show that the static anion release quantity of this fiber is 23 /cm~3,far infrared emissivity is 0.88,the limit oxygen index of flocculus and non-woven fabric made of this fiber are 30% and 36.8%,respectively.The fiber was modified by NaOH solution and the influence of lye concentration,reaction temperature,reaction time on the surface morphology and static anion release quantity of fiber were studied.The conclusion shows that 9%NaOH solution processing fiber for 4 h in 65? can achieve the largest static anion release quantity about 557 /cm~3.Post-processing for negative ion fiber is a kind of surface modification of general fiber by the use of turbid liquid containing anion additives and surface modifier.Polyacrylic acid sodium(PAAS),polypropylene glycol(PPG),silane coupling agent(Si-3069),Polyvinyl acetate emulsion(PVAC),Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion(EVA)emulsion were chosen as surface modifier.Weight gain and dynamic negative ion release quantity of modified fibers,weight gain,dynamic anion release quantity and static anion release quantity of modified fibers after washing were concerned to find out the best modification plan.Conclusions are as follows,fiber modified by the turbid liquid with PVAC shows best water resistance.3wt%PVAC can contribute to the largest static anion release quantity around 582 /cm~3 of modified fiber.Meanwhile,1wt%Si-3069 can contribute to the largest dynamic anion release quantity about 6260 /cm~3 of modified fiber.Furthermore,the dynamic anion release quantity can reach to 33437 /cm~3 once the turbid liquid contained both PVAC and Si-3069.However,the static anion release quantity can add to 587 /cm~3 at most when applying 1wt%Si-3069 along with 1wt%PVAC to modify the fiber.
