It has gradually began to receive attention in terms of the new drug development with the in-depth understanding of chiral technology, and chiral drugs with single configuration have become the focus and hot spots of new drug development at home and abroad. The demand of chiral drugs is enlarged day by day in the international drug market. In the case of huge market demand and profit-driven,the hot research of chiral drugs was raised on a global scale.Among of them,R-mandelic acid(R-MA)has been used as an important intermediate for the production of pharmaceuticals, which is widely used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.Along with the market demand with an average annual growth rate of 10%,R-MA has become the important fine chemical intermediates. However,at present, the large-scale production of optically pure R-MA has not been achieved in our country,so it has great significance to accelerate the research and development of R-MA,break down foreign companies' market monopoly, and develop the industrial production technology. The study is about the process design of 500 t/a scale about R-MA.The production process was obtained by amplifying the experience based on the pilot experimental data, and the process route included three parts:the fermentation of recombinant E.coli QA,the obtaining of R-MA by hydrolyzing mandelonitrile, and the separation and extraction of R-MA with a purity of 99%.The design mainly included workshop layout design about producing R-MA,process design, material calculation, energy calculation, equipment selection and calculation,"three wastes" treatment, economic benefit analysis and so on.Based on the work above,a flow chart with control points is drawn.
