The pollution of Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs)is a serious environmental problem.The adsorption technology with the advantage of simple operation,save energy,high efficiency is widely used in the industry.As the most abroad applied adsorbent,active carbon is flammable,hydrophilic,limited to adsorbe macromolecules VOCs and difficult to regeneration.So it is important to investigate ang develope new adsorbent with great potential to make up for the shortages.The polydivinylbenzene(PDVB)with superhydrophobic synthesized by solvothermal process,and then compare with mesoporous molecular sieves MCM-41,SBA-15 in structure and adsorption-desorption property.The results showed that the PDVB resin has the highest surface area and pore volume.The adsorption property of PDVB is better than mesoporous molecular sieves;furthermore,its adsorption property can hardly be influenced by water vapour.The results of TGA showed that the desorption property of PDVB is perfect because of the mesoporous structure and the stably physico chemical properties of pore suface.Compare with the suspension polymerization,the average pore diameter of PDVB synthesized by solvothermal method is more small and the pore size distribution is more concentrative;its adsorption amount of toluene is more large.With the crosslinker of styrene adding,the surface and the average pore diameter of the polymer are all reduced,the adsorption amount of toluene is also reduced correspondingly.With the water amount in porogen(THF)increasing,the average pore diameter of adsorbents increase firstly and then reduced;the pore size distribution become wide gradually,and the microporous structure begin appear,so the dynamic adsorption property for toluene is advanced and the breakthrough adsorpt amount is also enhanced.To further study the process and property of danymic adsorption of VOCs on PDVB,its adsorption isotherm and breakthrough curves in different conditions(different inlet concentration,temperature and VOCs)were studied.The results show that its adsorption isotherms of toluene which belong to I isotherms can correlate with Freundlich equation better.Under the experimental conditions,the Yoon-Nelson model was found to fit the breakthrough curves well,and the model parameters obtained from the experimental data not only describe the adsorption process very well but also predict the breakthrough curves correctly.Moreover,the adsoption property of PDVB for macromolecules VOCs is more perfect;but the desorption property for all VOCs(methyl acrylate,methyl methacrylate,ethyl acetate,styrene)is perfect.
