The ship industry plays an important role in both national economic development and national defense construction, the draft tube is one of maritime power equipments which can effectively improve the thrust and efficiency of ship, so Its accuracy of manufacture influences the ship power performance. Laser welding is of high energy density, small deformation, high speed and high welding precision, can significantly improve the welding quality and efficiency, can achieve the high-precision, good-performance and high-efficiency of draft tube, while traditional Arc welding is of low processing efficiency, low forming accuracy and big stress. But at present the laser welding technology is rarely used in the thick wall components in our country, It is still in blank in the high-power laser welding equipment development for thick wall components. To achieve the high quality welding goals of draft tubes, this paper designed a welding platform.At first, this paper introduced the subject's background, analyzed the domestic and international situation in the laser welding equipment research and application of laser welding technology in shipbuilding, and proposed design technology route of platform. Then analyzed the structural features and welding requirements of the draft tube and made a requirements analysis and overall design for the welding platform.Secondly, this paper made structural designs for functional modules. According special fixture and displacement device design, accomplished the clamping and displacement platform's structure design. By calculating and selecting the ball screw and servo motor and structural design of other parts, completed the structural design of the Z-axis lifts. Compared two programs' feature between rack & pinion drive and ball screw drive, chose the former and completed the X-axis moving platform design. Then made a selection of robots and introduced the welding head structure, completed the structural design of six degrees of performing member, the KR60 HA robot is of high positioning accuracy, within the work scope it can sent the welding head and make it be the correct pose.Finally, this paper made modeling simulation analyses for functional components of the platform, the results: after static analysis, the nut base and the roller axle has a small deformation and meet strength requirements, through modal analysis, Nut base won't vibrate in resonance with motor, the same to column. After all, we made a welding platform.
