Biogas, as a renewable clean energy, has played an important role in alleviating energy shortages and environmental pollution. Food waste and corn straw are two kinds of waste from urban life and agricultural production, their resource utilization can bring good environmental and economic benefits. In this paper, food waste and corn straw were used as raw materials and?mature? landfill leachate was used as digest medium for anaerobic co-digestion experimental research. The research work was conducted to investigate the gas production of different raw material ratio in the conditions of 35 ?, total mass1500 g, total solid content4%, vaccination rate20%. There were two batches of experiments. The first batch of experiment was the anaerobic co-digestion of food waste, corn straw without pretreatment and leachate. The secon batch of experiment was the anaerobic co-digestion of food waste, alkaline pretreatment of corn straw and leachate. The stability and gas production performance of the system was evaluated by the change of p H, volatile fatty acids, BOD5, COD, gas production and gas composition. The effect of the adding of corn straw without pretreatment and corn straw treated by alkali on the acidification phenomenon early in the experiment was studied. The experiment results showed that:(1) the addition of corn straw can improve gas production.(2) Without alkaline pretreatment, the system cannot operate effectively due to the acidification; pretreatment can effectively alleviate the acidification phenomenon.(3)In the first batch of experiments, the anaerobic co-digestion of food waste: corn straw = 1:3 showed better biogas productivity, which total gas production and biogas production rate was 15160 m L and 346 ml/g·TS, and its highest methane content was 63.84%, gas production increased by 98.43% compared with the anaerobic digestion of food waste alone. In the second batch of experiments, the anaerobic co-digestion of food waste: corn straw =1:2 showed the maximum biogas production of 16330 m L, and its highest methane content was 65.32%, gas production increased by 112.63%compared with the anaerobic digestion of food waste alone.(4)The anaerobic co-digestion of food waste and corn straw entered the methane-producing phase ahead of time compared with the anaerobic digestion of corn straw alone.
