Magnesium alloy has been widely applied in computer, communication,electronic device, automobile and aerospace field due to its excellent performance. Due to the hexagonal close-packed crystal structure, slip and twinning are limited at room temperature. So the plastic deformation ability of magnesium alloy is relatively poor at room temperature. With the increase of temperature, the plastic deformation ability is remarkably improved, or even may occur fundamental changes. Drawing, extrusion and rolling technology are the main methods to obtain magnesium alloy tube. Extrusion and drawing are more common, while the research on the rolling process of magnesium alloy tube has been rarely reported, especially on the continual mandrel rolling process of magnesium alloy tube. In order to explore the feasibility of continual mandrel rolling process of magnesium alloy tube, the continual mandrel rolling process of magnesium alloy tube was explored and studied by applying the theory on damage and continuous rolling.In this paper, the mechanism of plastic deformation, damage mechanism and plastic deformation range of magnesium alloy tube were systematically studied by plastic deformation mechanism of magnesium alloy,gleeble-1500 D compression experiments, damage model, finite element simulation of Deform and experiment on magnesium alloy tube in continual mandrel rolling process.Aiming at magnesium alloy characters, hole pattern design method and force energy parameters calculation formula of magnesium alloy tube were exploited.The best rolling temperature, threshold of damage and fracture and reasonable process parameters rang of AZ31 B magnesium alloy tube in continual mandrel rolling process was verified by finite element technology and experiment study.Research results show that continuous rolling process of magnesium alloy tube can be accomplished by the process technology, which provides important theoretical guidance and practical reference for the development of continual mandrel rolling process of magnesium alloy tube.
