PC and ABS,served as the most thermal plastic engineering resins,have been widely applied in daily life and industrial field.In this paper,the compatibility of PC and ABS phase,the reinforcement of CB adding in PC/ABS composites,application of plasma-modified CB adding in PC/ABS composites have been systematically studied.Detailed studies are as followed:(1)Firstly,the compatibility of PC/ABS composites was enhanced by adding different kinds of compatibilizers.Mechanical properties of PC/ABS composites filled with different compatibilizers were investigated.The results showed that the mechanical properties of composites were significantly improved by adding 600A,which showed better compatibility than that of MAH.(2)Secondly,PC/ABS/CB composites were prepared by adding carbon black nanoparticles.The results showed that the mechanical properties of PC/ABS blends increased at first with low CB content,but decreased when the CB content was too high since high concentration of CB in composites caused agglomeration.By comparing prepared PC/ABS/CB by internal batch mixer and twin screw extruder process,the results showed that the twin screw extruder process could get better mechanical properties and electrical conductivity with PC/ABS/CB.(3)Thirdly,CB was modified by plasma treatment in order to decrease the agglomerated degree in composites.Amount of-COOH and-OH functional groups appeared on the surface of CB after modification,which led to better dispersity.Modified and un-modified CB particles were added into PC/ABS composites,respectively.The results showed that the oxygen plasma treated CB possessed better dispersity in PC/ABS composites with less agglomeration,causing more excellent mechanical properties of composites.(4)CB was introduced into PC/ABS to prepare conductive composites.ABS was modified by maleic anhydride(MAH)as compatibilizer.The dispersion states of conductive fillers were characterized using a scanning electron microscope and wetting coefficient test.The electrical resistivity of different composites was measured and the results showed that,when CB was added to the PC/ABS-MAH/ABS,the composite shows much lower percolation threshold due to CB selective distribution at interface.
