In order to alleviate the global energy crisis, scholars has been exploring the alternatives of traditional petrochemical energy,in which oil sands has aroused widespread concern in academia. However, there is currently no effective and environmentally friendly method to separate oil sands bitumen. Each of methods has its own advantages while it is difficult to overcome its own shortcomings, and further research and development are needed for each separation method. The extraction of oil sand with organic solvent has a lot of advantages, such as saving water, saving heat energy, low cost etc..However,this method also has many disadvantages, such as high toxicity, pollution, danger in production and so on.This paper aims at overcoming disadvantages of this method.Firstly, for both Inner Mongolia oil sands and Sinkiang oil sands, the oil content and the particle size distribution of index had been tested, studying its recoverable value;Secondly, based on the principle of similar miscibility,Inner Mongolia oil sands, which mainly consisted of polarity composition, had been extracted by strong polarity Methylene dichloride. At the same time,Sinkiang oil sands, which consisted of polarity components and non-polar components equally, had been extracted by Methylene dichloride-petroleum ether compound solvent. The two oil sands extraction conditions had been optimized. Finally, the process flow had been designed by the concept of organic solvent recycle. Many disadvantages of this method had been overcome effectively.Inner Mongolia oil sands oil content is 10.08%,and Sinkiang oil sands oil rate is 15.88%.Both kinds of oil sands belong to the rich oil.Two kinds of oil sands have slight amount of fine sand, whose particle size less than 44 microns. All less than 5%.So,the extraction of oil sands of Inner Mongolia and Sinkiang oil sands have high value. In this paper,The extraction operating condition had been optimized.Experiments show that extracting 5.00 g Inner Mongolia oil sand with Methylene dichloride, temperature 25?,30 mL Methylene dichloride solvent, stirring 30 min, standing 20 min, with the method of countercurrent are the best operating conditions, maximum Bitumen recovery is 83.02%,the residual bitumen ratio is 2.86%.extracting 5.00 g Sinkiang oil sand with Methylene dichloride-petroleum ether compound solvent, temperature 25?,Methylene dichloride and petroleum ether volume ratio of 6:4,35 mL compound solvent, stirring 15 min are the best operating conditions, maximum Bitumen recovery is 90.55%,the reasonable residual bitumen ratio is 3.21%.With the design objective of annual output of 1000 tons bitumen, the production process of Inner Mongolia oil sand bitumen and Sinkiang oil sand bitumen had been designed respectively. The PID had been made and the rectification section had been simulated based on Aspen Plus. The equipment parameters and operating parameters had been confirmed. The adsorption-desorption section in the process also had been designed and calculated. Finally, the economic evaluation of tow process had been made. The Inner Mongolia oil sands Bitumen project needs a total investment of 2.0084 million yuan, and the Sinkiang oil sands Bitumen project needs a total investment of 3.178 million yuan.In the current crude oil price of $60/bbl case, the two designs are not economically viable. However,if the oil price rose to $87/bbl or more, the Inner Mongolia oil sands Bitumen project would have profitability, and the investment recovery period would be less than the average recovery period of the chemical industry 9 to 11 years,so the project would be economically viable. If the oil price rose to $89/bbl or more, the Sinkiang oil sands Bitumen project would have profitability, and the investment recovery period would be less than the average recovery period of the chemical industry 9 to 11 years,so the project would be economically viable.
