Aquatic Ecosystem Health Assessment Of Liao River Basin

In the process of human society development,the river plays a vital role,it not only provides food and water for agriculture or industry,as well as other commercial,transportation,entertainment functions,but also is the habitat of fish,amphibians,aquatic plants and microbes.In recent years,with the rapid development of China's urban and industrial,rivers are polluted,vegetation is destroyed,and the unreasonable use of water resources become more and more serious,the river ecosystem show a serious degradation trend.Therefore,taking comprehensive indicators and criteria to evaluate the function and health status of river ecosystems,identifying the impact of human activities on the functions of river ecosystems,can help ma nagers to develop the objectives of ecological restoration and water environment management,provide effective management measures to protect the ecosystem health and aquatic ecological function.According to the results of water ecological health evaluation at each monitoring section of the Liao river Basin in 2015,the spss19.0 software was used to cluster analysis the 27 monitoring sections in the Liao river mainstream and 38 monitoring sections in the Hun Tai water system.And finally identified 14 monitoring sections in the Liao river mainstream,and 18 monitoring sections in the Hun Tai water system.as the water ecological health assessment optimized representative monitoring sections.Through the principal component analysis and correlation analysis of 15 monitoring indexes,nine monitoring indexes include COD,DO,TN,ammonia nitrogen,the taxonomic unit number of benthic creatures,benthic BP,the taxonomic unit number of algae creatures,the shanon-wiener index of algae,algae BP were identified to constitute the optimized evaluation index system of aquatic health in Liao river basin.In June 2016,combined with the optimized sections and indicators,collect water quality,nutrients,periphytic algae,the benthic creatures samples in 32 monitoring sections of Liao river.The water ecological health evaluation of Liao river was carried out by using multi-index comprehensive analysis and evaluation method.The results of the evaluation were plotted as ecological health report cards,and the results of each monitoring sections can be summarized clearly.Evaluation results show that the overall quality of the Liao river water is better,basically to the class ? water quality standards.The water quality of Hun Tai water system is slightly worse than the mainstream,most sections was in the class ? water quality standards,pollution sections are mainly concentrated in the Pu river basin.Aquatic ecosystem health assessment revealed that 11 sections are “Good”,13 sections are “Normal”,8 sections are “Worse”.The Water Quality's score is 0.771,Nutrients' score is 0.471,Algae's score is 0.527 and the Benthic Creatures' score is 0.344.The average of whole basin include all index is0.528,on “Normal” status.
