NC machining technology is an important part of computer aided design and manufacturing technology. Tool path planning is the most important part of NC Machining Technology. In NC machining, the tool path planning algorithm directly affects the quality and efficiency of machining surface. In this paper, the traditional algorithm of iso-scallop height tool path generation is optimized, and the interference phenomenon of the tool is discussed. In the tool path optimization, the choice of the direction of the tool will affect the surface machining quality and machining efficiency, so this paper presents an algorithm based on the principal curvature matching for the iso-scallop height tool path generation. In view of the excessive bending of the tool path when the curvature of the surface has a large change, an iso-scallop height tool path generation algorithm based on acceleration constraint and residual height tool path generation is proposed. The algorithm is based on the conventional iso-scallop height tool path to generate the tool path on the basis of the acceleration and the adjustment of each cutter contact point on the pre cutter rail, so as to achieve the purpose of optimizing tool path and makes the tool path smoother. In processing of interference, The first of several main tool interference phenomenon is analyzed in detail, and then points out several processing method of interference deficiencies, finally discusses three kinds of interference phenomenon is the most important, and the phenomenon of their solutions are listed. For Based on UG second development platform, the presented algorithm is developed by using the C language in the programming software VC++6.0, and the generated tool paths can be simulated in the UG/CAM software. Comparing the traditional algorithm with the algorithm presented in this paper, the results show that the presented algorithm in this paper makes the tool path moother and reduces the length of tool paths, which proves the effectiveness of the algorithm.
