The thesis analyzed the factors systematically which affect the rate of penetration in the aspects of geology and drilling engineering technology.The factors includes the bit selection,well profile,down hole equipments,drilling fluids and formation,etc.,and analyzed out the affected factors thus a feasible program summarized.During the drilling process,select the best parameters,so as to increase the rate of penetration and improve the drilling efficiency.The bit selection is the priority of the ROP increasing.Based on the analysis of the feasibility of the PDC bit and cone bit,the PDC has advantage of longer down-hole life and with fixed parts,thus it is more reliable than cone bit.But the analysis and optimization should be carried out on bit structure,structure,quantity and size of the cutting component,hydraulic flow area,other down-hole tools and operating parameters,to adapt the demand of the drilled formation and engineering.Analyzing the contribution on ROP from drilling fluid,and the tailored design should be applied to drilling fluid to adapt the different formation,well section and condition,to ensure the drill safety while increase the ROP.To improve the drilling efficiency and reduce the tripping time,utilize one BHA with only one trip to finalize the drilling,deviational,stabilization,deviational increment and bearing correction.A set of high efficiency and long life down-hole tools are needed.The formation prediction and control measures guarantee the ROP increasing.The differences and variety of the formation will not only result in the difficulties of the bit selection,also the failure of the BHA is not rare.The preparation must be made for the high efficiency of drilling operation.The relation between drilling efficiency and ROP need to be viewed dialectically.The ROP is just one of many performance indicators and not the only factor to affect the general drilling section and drilling efficiency.The performance indicators are correlated each other and they need to be analyzed in a whole aspect.The ROP increasing will not bring the drilling efficiency improvement in certainly.The improvement of the drilling efficiency is the key element to reduce the operational cost.The good and fast drilling technology which includes the ROP increasing expanded and developed rapidly,it covers from state owned oil field to joint operation oil field,marginal oil field and exploration wells.With the utilization of the good and fast drilling technology,thedrilling efficiency improved dramatically,thus time saved and cost reduced.Introduced the utilization of the good and fast drilling in SZ36-1 oil field in Bohai Bay,demonstrated the effectiveness and sound data to readers.The good and fast drilling technology with its main contents drilling increasing is an innovation and breakthrough which accomplished by our engineers.It will co-operate with nowadays low oil price situation and it will contribute more to our oil and gas industry.The technology will develop continuously and powered and guarantee the exploration and production of oil and gas.
