In this paper,co-pyrolysis of coal and biomass was studied by TGA and Py-GC.Firstly,the coals and biomasses, which have obvious synergistic effect during co-pyrolysis,were investigated by TGA.Additionally, the effects of atmosphere, temperature and coal type on sulfur release during co-pyrolysis of coal and biomass were studied by Py-GC.Wood has the most significant synergistic effect during co-pyrolysis.Moreover,the synergy effects of CF,XM and YM coals are better than others during co-pyrolysis.Under argon atmosphere, the synergy of YM and wood during co-pyrolysis has the strongest effect on the release of hydrogen sulfide and carbonyl sulfide in the gas phase, while the synergetic effect of XM and wood on the release of sulfur dioxide is the strongest.Under carbon dioxide atmosphere, the sulfur prefer to enter the gas phase or reside in solid phase, but not to transfer the liquid phase because of the synergy during coal and wood co-pyrolysis.The synergy of coal and biomass co-pyrolysis in carbon dioxide is better than that under argon through comparing the danuansyct of sulfur distribution in gas.liquid and solid phases.
