Mercury as a toxic and harmful heavy metals which has a huge harm on human health and the surrounding environment.Coal-fired power plants are the main source of mercury emissions.due to the difficulty of removing Hg0 from existing pollutant control devices.So reducing the proportion of Hg0 in coal-fired flue gas,the oxidation of easily removable Hg2+,and then the use of existing coal-fired power plant pollutant control device to be removed,can greatly reduce the pollutant control costs.The SCR catalyst has the ability to oxidize Hg0 to Hg2+ in the pollutant control device of coal-fired power plant,But the traditional commercial SCR catalyst is not efficient for the oxidation of elemental mercury.By studying the oxidation behavior of commercial SCR catalysts and the preparation of a new modified SCR catalyst with high mercury oxidation efficiency,the problem of mercury pollution in coal-fired power plants can be solved.In this paper,we focus on the problems and shortcomings of conventional commercial SCR catalysts for the oxidation of elemental mercury.First,the traditional commercial SCR catalysts were tested for elemental mercury oxidation.On the basis of the above experiments,commercial catalysts were modified by using Cu Cl2 as modifier and blending method.And the characteristics of elemental mercury oxidation of the modified catalyst were studied.We research the effects of different reaction temperature and different flue gas components?O2,SO2,NO?on the oxidation behavior of elemental mercury.The results show that the optimum reaction temperature is 350 ? for both commercial and reforming catalysts.Both O2 and NO can promote the oxidation of elemental mercury.SO2 has an inhibitory effect on the oxidation of elemental mercury.In general,although the oxidizing property of the modified catalyst is similar to that of the commercial catalyst,the oxidation efficiency of the modified catalyst is higher.This study provides a reliable basis for the synergistic denitrification with the existing air pollutant plant,which lays a theoretical foundation.
