The accuracy of measurement for trace elements in largely depends on the quality of the graphite tube whose performance is affect by its production process and the carbide kinds.The analytical character of electro-thermal atomic absorption spectrometric method is affected by heating fashion such as in longitudinal or transversely direction.In this paper,the transversely heating graphite tube is used as the research purpose and the sensitivity of the modified graphite tube was discussed.The research of this work is mainly focused on follows:(1)the effect of different coatings on the detection limit of graphite tube;(2)the effect of modification on the graphite tube detection limit;(3)the effect of coating element on detection limit and sensitivity of graphite tube;(4)the effect of modification and modification elements added to the graphite tube detection limit.The factors that affect the detection limit of electro-thermal atomic absorption spectrometric measurement was discussed,and the modification process of graphite tube was proposed.The experimental results demonstrate that modification graphite tube with carbide which is formed in situ can improve the analytical performance of the mentioned method.In a word,modification graphite tube with appreciate carbide which is formed in situ will improve the analytical performance of the mentioned method significantly.
