With the development of nanotechnology, the application of nanoparticles in biomedical research has absorbed more and more interests.Composite nanoparticles with a variety of functions received much attention for they can compound different nanoparticles at the same time.Calcium phosphate?CaP?is a kind of good biocompatibility and non-toxic inorganic nanoparticles, and exists in teeth and bones of the body. How to combine CaP with other functional nanoparticles to a composite nanoparticle with good dispersion and appropriate size becomes a difficult problem. This paper presents a simple and feasible method, using polyacrylic acid calcium as a template, combine with Fe3O4 and carbon to prepare C/CaP/Fe3O4 composite nanoparticles with good dispersion.Complexes containing Fe3O4 can be used for magnetic resonance?MR?imaging and containing carbon materials can be used for photothermal therapy. Therefore, the prepared composites canserve as a theranostic agent due to their good biocompatibility, high anti-cancer drug loading,pH/NIR dual-responsiveness,magnetism and photothermal conversion ability. Moreover,we used the same methord to combine CaP with Gd2O3:Eu,to synthesize Gd2O3: Eu/CaP composite nanoparticles with hollow mesoporous structure. As well as known,Gd3+-based materials can be used for MR imaging, and Eu3+ doped can be used for fluorescence imaging at the same time. Therefore, the obtained drug develivery composite nanoparticles have potential for multimodal imaging?MRI and fluorescence imaging?.
