Heave compensation technology is one of the three key technologies in deep sea dr illing. In deep sea drilling, the drilling ship will produce heave motion under the actio n of waves. This movement will not only affect the drilling pressure, serious may thre aten production safety. Therefore,it is necessary to study the heave compensation devi ce.In this paper, the features and advantages and disadvantages of the existing types o f heave compensation device are analyzed.Through the analysis and comparison of thr ee kinds of power supply modes of passive, active and semi active, the scheme of the heave compensation device is determined. And the hydraulic compensation cylinder is designed, and its key components are checked by the third strength theory.Based on the simplification of the existing model, the dynamic model of the compensation syste m is established. Then the parameters of the dynamic model are discussed. The three main factors which affect the compensation effect of pistondiameter, accumulator volum e and initial pressure of accumulator are obtained. The simulation was performed by means of AMESim software to compensate the effect of crane compensation device, the influencing factors of orthogonal test on the c ompensation effect: compensation cylinder piston diameter, accumulator volume and acc umulator initial pressure were optimized.By the analysis of the results of orthogonal t est,the effect of the initial pressure of the accumulator on the compensation effect is the biggest, and the optimal combination is obtained.By the AMESim software to the wave period and wave height used to batch process simulation, obtained parameters s uitable for different sea areas.
