Nickel Teflon(NI-PTFE)coating began to apply a surface coating technology in recent years. It is ultra-fine particles of PTFE particles uniformly dispersed in the plating nickel composite coatings formed by coating layer. This coating has good corrosion resistance,self-lubricity and wear resistance. It is attached to the different material substrate which can be physical and chemical properties of the matrix plays a different improving effect. We did different coating on the stainless steel material used for medical devices,For the purpose is to obtain better lubricity, adhesion, corrosion resistance coating material witch can pass biocompatibility test. The main content of this paper is to test and analyze and discuss two different PTFE contents NI-PTFE plating layer 304 stainless steel and hardness,adhesion,lubrication420 stainless steel substrate surface, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility test results.Through discussion In this paper,We get the test results that the NI-PTFE coating can improve the surface hardness of 304 and 420 stainless steel, can improve the corrosion resistance of stainless steel 420,304 and 420 stainless steel can improve the surface friction coefficient.A certain range of PTFE particle content in NI-PTFE coating medical devices meet desired biological safety requirements, particularly cytotoxicity requirements.Base on the study we suggest that NI-PTFE plating process on the surface of the adhesion properties of 304 and 420 stainless steel could reach the requirements.
