The Research Of New Grade ABS Resin

ABS,an important synthetic resin,is a rubber-toughened thermoplastic copolymerized by monomers of Acrylonitrile(AN),Butadiene(BD)and Styrene(ST).The disperse phase of ABS is the polybutadiene(PB)rubber particle,and the continuous phase is Styrene-Acrylonitrile copolymer.With the rapid development of China's home appliance and automotive industry,as well as the improvement of people's consumption level,the demand of ABS resin is growing rapidly.Tianjin Dagu Chem.Ltd.ABS plant introduced the American GE company's emulsion grafting-bulk copolymerizing AS-compounding process,and divided into 4 units,including PBL unit,HRG unit,SAN unit and COM unit.The product PBD latex of PBL unit is sent to HRG unit to produce the high rubber graft powder,which is compounding with the SAN particle from SAN unit by the extruder and pelletizing in COM unit to produce the ABS resin.In the industrial production of ABS resin,the problem of product quality is not stable or old.This paper takes the production of Dagu Tianjin ABS resin as an example,and has done a lot of work to get the following results:1)In the second chapter,we discussed how to improve the stability of DG-417.Tianjin Dagu's flagship product is DG-417 and performance of its products have with mainstream market impact product performance,but the stability of products still need to be further improved,in order to achieve this goal,We have carried out a systematic study of PBL products particle diameter,Melt Flow Rate of San,extrusion control(mainly rotating speed,feeding fluctuation,safety factors),,get more stable quality of ABS resin products finally;2)In the third chapter,we use a small percentage of HRG graft powder,developed new types of ABS resin DG-437 with good color,lower impact porperties(due to lower grafting ratio of HRG powder)and good rigidity.In the higher raw material prices of BD,the product will help to improve the company's competitiveness.In addition,in the development process of DG-437,SAN with reasonable Melt Flow Rate is developed,which is very important for the production of ABS resin DG-437;3)in the fourth chapter,we took MG-94 which is introduced from the United States based to enhance the Impact Propertiy by add dimethyl siloxane in the tenth cylinder,then we compared the impact property flowability and rigidity of DG-MG94 with South Korea Kumho grades 750 N ABS resin.DG-MG94 has been welcomed by the Guangzhou Kingfa,Qingdao Haier New Material R&D CO.,LTD.and other customers,this product development has greatly improved the competitiveness of Tianjin Daguchem CO.,LTD;4)In the fifth chapter,the paper summarizes and prospects the work of this paper.
