Electrochemiluminescence, referred to as ECL, is electrochemical reaction on the electrode by applying a certain voltage. ECL has many advantages, such as a low detection limit, easy operation, increasing the stability of reagents and reducing the amount of reagents. In recent years, a number of literatures reported a variety of electrochemical luminescence phenomenon and practical application by using tris(bipyridine) ruthenium(?) (Ru(bpy)32+) modified on different electrodes. While Nanoparticles have become a major object of analytical chemistry because of their large specific surface area, excellent conductivity and so on, which show special advantages in medicine and food field.Because oxalic acid (OA) is related closely with human in medical?healthy?environmental and other aspects. Based on this, the gold/Nafion/Ru(bpy)32+ and GCE/PVC-Ru(bpy)32+-AuNPs systems were prepared by electrochemical luminescence method to detect OA. Both detection systems have a low detection limit and a wide linear range and a high accuracy in the actual detection of OA. The contents of this paper are as follows:(1)In this article, firstly we study the influence of the ECL of gold/Nafion/Ru(b py)32+ system when the OA acts as the co-reaactant at the Nafion/Ru(bpy)32+immobilized on the gold electrode. It finds out that the ECL ofgold/Nafion/Ru(bpy)32+ system turns decline with the increase concentration of OA.Comparing the ECL intensity-time profile of GCE/Nafion/Ru(bpy)32+,GCE/Au/Nafion/Ru(bpy)32+,Pt/Nafion/Ru(bpy)32+ and Au/Nafion/Ru(bpy)32+ by detecting various kinds of the concentration of OA respectively. The ECL of goki/Nafion/Ru(bpy)32+system turns decline with OA only because of the presence of gold. This system can be quickly and sensitively detect OA and is useful in actual sample testing.(2)We use scanning electron microscope (SEM) characterised the compound of Ru(bpy)32+-AuNPs, investigated the ECL behaviors of Ru(bpy)32+-AuNPs which on the condition of film-forming with polyvinyl carbazole (PVK) on the glassy carbon electrode. We also found the ECL behaviors of GCE/PVk-Ru(bpy)32+-AuNPs system with the co-reactant of OA, which the ECL becomes stronger with the increase concentration of OA. The above detection method has a wide linear range and high sensitivity to OA. Therefore, this system provides an effective method for the determination of OA.
