In recent years, organometallic complexes have become a hot research field, and have important application in the field of organic compounds, such as energy gas storage, toxic gas adsorption separation, luminescent materials, heterogeneous catalysis etc..We introduced the development process of coordination compounds briefly, and mainly introduced the discovery, synthesis and application of supramolecular complexes and organometallic complexes in various fields. thus leads to the purpose and content of this research. In this paper, three different coordination complexes were synthesized by using different organic ligands,The structures and properties of the complexes were characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, UV-Visible absorption spectra, powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis and fluorescence spectroscopy. First, two new Cr(?)complexes based on 2-substituted 8-hydroxy quinoline ligands, have been prepared by a facile hydrothermal method, and the fluorescence properties of these two complexes were studied. Second, three kinds of organometallic complexes with similar crystal structure were synthesized by using polycarboxylic acid ligands, the two-dimensional Cu-based metal complexes containing ureido groups had excellent catalytic activity. The ureido-containing organometallic complexes have excellent catalytic activity for Friedel-Crafts alkylation and Knoevenagel condensation reaction, for Catalytic Friedel - Crafts alkylation reaction nuclear magnetic yield can reach 99%, and can be recycled for many times. Finally, Two asymmetric Schiff base ligands were synthesized and self-assembled by solvothermal method into two-dimensional bimetallic organic framework Cu-Ni-MOF-2, and characterized by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and powder X-ray diffraction. The research work is summarized, and some experiences about the synthesis and application of complex compounds are proposed based on the understanding of the coordination compounds.
