The study collected three type of water samples from different industry effluents,river water samples and wastewater treatment plant?influent,acidification pool effluent,and final effluent of WWTP?from Bengbu section Huaihe river,and freshwater benth onic bivalve Asian clam?Corbicula fluminea?were exposed to the collected water samples for 14 days,during which,water temperature,p H,dissolved oxygen and death were recorded.Then,visceral mass and gonad of male clams were collected for the detection of enzyme activity below: SOD,GPx,GR,MDA,GST,ACh E and Vtg.Finally,the enzyme activity results above were evaluated by Integrated Biomarker Response version2(IBRv2).The results were as follows:1.Test results of IBRv2 values of fifteen water samples from three different industry effluents followed a rank of pharmaceutical industry effluents?9.32?,rubber industry effluents?8.94?and food industry effluents?8.22?,the value of Vtg,ACh E and MDA were relatively higher,indicating that the amount of estrogen and its analogues,neurotoxicity materials and heavy metals had greater effect on the collected water samples.2.The average content of Vtg in the food industry effluent was 79.35 ?g / ml,while that of GST was only 15.74 U/mg prot/min,indicating that the content of hormone in the drainage was higher and organic pollutants was relatively lower;the contents of ACh E,GST and Vtg in the water samples of the pharmaceutical industry were 0.017 U/mg prot/min,20.66 U/mg prot/min and 96.69 ?g/ml respectively,which indicated that the amount of neurotoxicity materials,organic pollutants and hormones material content were higher;the overall oxidative damage was highest in the rubber industry effluent,especially in C3 and C4,and the MDA value were 3.54 ?mol / mg prot and 2.86 ?mol /mg prot respectively.3.The average value of the assessment results(IBRv2)of the water pollution level of the ten river water sampling point was 8.11,which was lower than that of the industry drainage.The contents of Vtg and ACh E in water samples were 85.88 ?g/ml and 0.027U/mg prot/min respectively,and the activity of GST was inhibited in the water samples and reached only 9.68 U/mg prot/min,indicating that estrogen and its analogues,pesticideresidues and other organic pollutants had greater effects on the river water samples,the main origin of pollutants was non-point source emissions,ie.the residents domestic sewage discharge,pesticide and fertilizer residues.4.The assessment results(IBRv2)of influent,acidification pool effluent and final effluent of wastewater treatment plant followed a rank of influent,acidification pool effluent,and final effluent.The assessment results were 15.8,13.3 and 9.7 respectively.Acidification pool technology was able to remove organic pollutants,neurotoxic substances and heavy metals,but the WWTP was incapable in the elimination of hormones and endocrine disruptive substances effectively and hence needs to improve its function.Serve as an important point source discharge origin,the impact of wastewater treatment plant on the surrounding aquatic environment and ecosystem is profound and can not be ignored either.
