With the increasingly serious problem of arsenic pollution,the research on remediation technology of contaminated soil has been widely concerned.The remediation combined arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)with plant is an important way and the current hot spot in the field of arsenic contaminated soil remediation.To explore the effect of AMF inoculum on As uptake and transport,the effect of three kinds of AMF including Funneliformis mosseae(Fm),Claroideoglomus etunicatum(Ce),Glomus versiforme(Gv)on As absorption of maize(Zea mays L.)and Pteris vittata L.was investigated in pot experiment.A select strain(Ce),which could both enhance As enrichment of Pteris vittata and reduce As absorption of maize was chosen.And the effects of different strains were preliminarily studied.The effect of Ce inoculum on As uptake and transport of maize and Pteris vittata in open intercropping,restrictive intercropping and monocropping was investigated in a pot experiment.To explore the feasibility and effect of Ce applied to maize-Pteris vittata intercropping for As-contaminated soil.The main findings were as follows:1.The effect of Ce inoculum on reducing the As absorption of maize was the most significant.Fm and Ce inoculum promoted the growth of maize and Gv inoculum significantly inhibited the growth of maize.Compared with CK,Fm,Ce and Gv could significantly reduce the arsenic concentration in the shoots and roots of maize,and decreased by 3.1%,14.4%,25.6%and 8.0%,4.4%,15.7%,respectively.Three kinds of AMF significantly reduced the rhizosphere soil pH and soil available As concentration,but increased the aboveground P/As of maize,Ce and Gv decreased the As translocation factor in maize and inhibited the transport of As from root to shoot,while the Fm to the opposit.2.The effect of Ce inoculum on enhancing the As enrichment of Pteris vittata was the most significant.All of three kinds of AMF inoculum significantly increased the biomass of Pteris vittata.Compared with CK,Fm,Ce and Gv could significantly increase the As content in shoot and root of Pteris vittata,and increased by 95.5%,151.8%,80.1%and 112.2%,124.0%,30.1%respectively.Ce infection significantly increased the As enrichment factor of Pteris vittata,while it was not obvious in Fm and Gv.3.The result obtained from the semi-hydroponics-glass bead culture method showed that the root length,root surface area and root volume of maize and Pteris vittata were significantly increased by Ce inoculum,while there is no obvious effect on root diameter.Ce inoculum reduced As absorption rate of maize,and increased the As absorption rate of Pteris vittata,significantly.The As concentration in each part of maize was as follows:aboveground<root<extra-root hyphae;in Pteris vittata showed:shoot>root?extra-root hyphae.4.Under Ce inoculum,compared with monoculture,intercropping patterns(restrictive intercropping,open intercropping)are not conducive to the growth and inhibit the As absorption in maize,howerer,which significantly promoted the growth and As absorption in Pteris vittata.In addition,the effect of open intercropping is significant.5.In open intercropping,compared with CK,the effect of Ce inoculum on the biomass of maize is not obvious but the biomass of Pteris vittata increased significantly during different periods of maize.In addition,during different periods of maize,Ce inoculum significantly reduced As concentration and content in the shoots and the As transport factor of maize.Ce inoculum significantly increased arsenic concentration and content in shoot and root and increased As accumulation factor of Pteris vittata,which improve the enrichment ability of As.In conclusion,in monoculture,inoculation of Ce and Fm promoted the growth and inhibited As absorption in maize.At the same time,the biomass and promotion As absorption in Pteris vittata were increased,and the effect of Ce inoculum was more significant.In open intercropping,Ce inoculum significantly enhanced As enrichment ability in Pteris vittata and reduced As absorption in maize and the,result was also fit for the different periods of maize.The research results would be helpful to promote the application of AM fungi in phytoremediation especially intercropping remediation practice.
