Photosynthesis is one of the effective methods of using solar energy.Photosynthetic system is an important way for plants using solar energy to fix CO2 to produce oxygen.In recent years,people have been committed to the study of fixed solar and artificial catalytic oxidation of water to produce O2.Therefore,the synthesis of water oxidation catalysts with excellent properties has become a hot research topic.The transition metal organic compounds with half sandwich structure have been paid more attention by the researchers because of its novel structure,easy modification,good dissolution and redox properties.There are a lot of reports on the ability of the semi-sandwich transition metal compounds to catalyze water oxidation.Several kinds of transition metal compounds and organic ligands were synthesized.Via compounds' structure design,synthesis,characterization and performance testing to prove this kind of compounds is more suitable as catalysts for the oxidation of water.The compounds' spatial structure is more stable,and more activity.The main body of this paper includes the following three aspects: 1.Ruthenium half sandwich compounds based on the new [?-6-CyRu?L??H2O?]??E?-2-?2-?pyridin-4-yl?vinyl?quinolin-8-ol?L?,Cy of methyl isopropyl benzene?was synthesized and characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffractometer.At the same time,the redox properties of the compound were detected by cyclic voltammetry.2.New structure azo compounds are synthesized by using organic compound 4-?2-Hydroxy-1-naphthylazo?benzenesulfonic acid sodium salt?L2?and transition metal copper,nickel,cobalt,manganese.Then they characterized their compounds by different methods like optical and electrochemical properties.Through the result of the electrochemical property research found that in the four compounds the oxidation of azo compound Co reduction performance is the best.3.A new type of metal organic compound was prepared by using metal copper nitrate and organic compound 3-?pyridin-2-yldiazenyl?naphthalen-2-ol?L3?.The structure of the compound was characterized by various means.The stability,electronic structure and electrochemical properties of the compounds were studied by thermogravimetry?TGA?,ultraviolet visible?UV-vis?spectroscopy and electrochemical methods.The redox properties of the compounds were determined by cyclic voltammetry.It was found that pH=11 was the most powerful.In addition,the azo compound was applied to the chemical oxidation of water,and the Ce?IV?salt was used as an oxidant.The results show that the transition metal organic complexes has great potential in catalytic water oxidation,which lays a foundation for the further exploration of late transition metal catalysts for the oxidation of water,also provides more experimental and theoretical basis for the development of solar energy through artificial photosynthesis.
