Requires of the rapid development of woodworking industry put forward higher requirements on the performance of woodworking tools and the traditional tool steel,high speed steel is being replaced by carbide materials gradually which have high hardness and high wear resistance.Currently the proportion of carbide woodworking tool material has reached 20%,while its further increase is limited by the Mechanical Performance of itself.Achieving good coexistence of hardness and strength is the key to carbide material access to a wide range of applications.laser cladding on ordinary steel surface with the advantages of high energy density and the easy to control the direction of the laser beam,will get ideal material which has good toughness and high surface hardness.Orthogonal experiment method was used to study the effects of laser cladding parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of carbide cladding layer.With the comprehensive analysis and test of specimen cladding surface quality,hardness and microstructure,determining the best combination of laser cladding parameters are:the current size 14A,the scanning speed 180mm/min,the track pitch 0.8mm ultimately under the IS-5000QB lasers.The current size and spacing of adjacent tracks are significant factors affecting properties of the cladding layer,and the change of the current size will affect the organization and distribution of the(W,Ti)C in the cladding layer.An obvious change in the cladding layer,transition and matrix organization can be seen in the cross section of clad samples,and micro-hardness values showed a good transition from big to small at the same time.Carbide with different levels of TiC was cladding under an optimized combination of laser parameters,and the impact of changes in components of the cladding layer performance was explored.The increasing of TiC content in the alloy promotes its heterogeneous nucleation,so the resulting(W,Ti)C solid solution specific gravity increases.When TiC mass fraction reaches 25%,the effect of heterogeneous nucleation close to saturation,and the cladding layer micro-hardness reached the maximum.A lot of(W,Ti)C solid solution formation,will reduce the toughness of the cladding layer and the hard phase is easy to peeled off from the sample in the long process of friction.As considering the hardness and wear resistance of the cladding layer,the 65 Steel blade planer laser cladding use the alloy powder which consist of 20%TiC,72%WC,8%Co.Good surface quality of the cladding layer was got,which surface hardness achieved HRC67,and formed Metallurgy binding with 65 Steel substrate.The average Tool grinding interval of laser cladding blade is 1.6 times of speed steel stitching materials blade,which saves the time of blade removal and sharpening.Compared with the GHO10-82 type planer blade,the laser cladding blade's sharpening interval is longer,and the ability to process high hardness of wood is better.
