Study On The Preparation And Properties Of HDPE/FF Composites

By means of melting blend method, the high density polyethylene (HDPE) /Feather Fiber(FF) composites were prepared. FF was treated by coupling agents,interfacial modifier,acid protease,adding Silica coated Zinc Oxide(ZnO-SiO2) to improve antibiosis propersites of composites,adding different molecular weight of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) to enhance the impact resistance performance of HDPE/FF composites,adding charringFF that was using chymotrypsin to deal with FF to improve mechanical properties of composites;In the end, HDPE/FF composites' material mechanical properties,rheological properties and antibacterial properties were characterized by a series of tests. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe the fracture section microstructure,DSC was used to characterize HDPE/FF composites' non isothermal crystallization kinetics.Low-field NMR was used to quantify the adhesive property of the interface between FF and HDPE.The results showed that:Three kinds of coupling agent could improve the interface properties of HDPE/FF composites.When the amount of silane coupling agent (KH570)was lOwt phr of FF,the comprehensive property of composites was the best,in addion,modified treatment of FF was based on KH570.Blending three kinds of the interface modifier can enhance the mechanical properties of the HDPE/FF composite,the melting flow rate of HDPE/FF composites were decreased. When the amount of (EVA+POE)-g-MAH was 10 phr of composites,the mechaniacl property of composites was the best,With different molecular weight of UHMWPE added into composites,mechanical properties of the HDPE/FF composites were improved,but the HDPE/FF composites'flow performance were worse.With the content of UHMWPE increasing, the mechanical properties of the HDPE/FF composites got improved, but the HDPE/FF composites' flow performance got worse. When molecular weight of UHMWPE was 9 million and amount of UHMWPE was 15 phr of composites,the impact strength of the composites was the highest,reaching 24.20kJ/m .The cabonized FF had a certain ion adsorption capacity.After modified by citric acid and zinc chloride,the ionic adsorption capacity and specific surface area of carbonizedFF were improved.The addition of modified carbonizedFF improved the mechanical properties of the composites.When the amount of carbonizedFF treated by citric acid was 20 phr,the mechaniacl property of composites was the best.In the treatment of FF with acid protease,the mechaniacl property of composites got worse.In the antibacterial properties,acid protease could remove dirt present on surface of FF,on the basis of acid protease,adding ZnO-SiO2 coulf further destroy the cell structure of the bacteria,inhibit cell regeneration,antibacterial effect was remarkable.When the amount of acid protease was 3phr of composites and the coating amount of ZnO-SiO2 was 3phr,the antibacterical effect of the composites was the best.Using DSC studied the non-isothermal crystallization kinetics.The Jeziorny method showed that,adding coupling agents,interface modifiers charring FF,ZnO-SiO2 and UHMWPE would decrease crystallization rate of the HDPE/FF composites.Using low-field NMR studied relaxation behaviour of HDPE/FF composite.The results showed that,adding the coupling agent,charring FF,ZnO-SiO2 and interfacial modifier would decrease the time of transverse ralaxation of HDPE/FF composite.
