With the extensive use of epoxy resin composites in various industries as structural or functional materials,more and more requirements are put forward for its performance,molding cycle and environmental friendliness.As a new type of resin curing technology,microwave curing has received more and more attention.Microwave curing has the advantages of uniform heating,fast curing speed,easy to control,energy saving and environmental protection and so on.At present,there are a lot of studies on the non-thermal effect of microwave curing reaction and the properties of epoxy composites reinforced by different materials.However,in the microwave curing process,the dispersion stability of the reinforcements in the epoxy matrix and the interface performance between reinforcements and matrix in the composites need to be further studied.It will be beneficial for the epoxy resin composites as structural materials or functional materials to meet the higher performance requirements,but also conducive to the further application of microwave curing technology.Based on the literature review and preliminary exploration,the microwave curing process was explored in this paper.The effect of microwave irradiation on the stability and interfacial bonding of carbon nanotubes(MWCNT)in epoxy resin was investigated.The effect of MWCNT on the mechanical properties,heat resistance,thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity of epoxy resin via microwave curing was deeply studied.And the strengthening mechanism of microwave cured MWCNT/epoxy composites was analyzed.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)The optimum microwave curing process for epoxy resin system was studied and compared with traditional heat curing process.Based on the previous research,this paper took three periods of microwave power to cure epoxy resin.The curing time was shorter than that of thermal curing.The cured products had great mechanical properties and curing degree.And it was found that the microwave curing could not change the chemical structure of the product.(2)The effect of microwave on the dispersion stability and interfacial bonding of carbon nanotube in epoxy resin was investigated.The results showed that there was a significant sedimentation in the MWCNT dispersions without microwave treatment.The particle size changed from 624nm to 792nm;After microwave treatment,the dispersion effect was better,and the particle size changed from 636nm to 689nm.MWCNT could maintain better morphology and particle size in epoxy resin,and had better dispersion stability after microwave irradiation.TFBT tests showed that microwave cured matrix had better wettability and interfacial bonding to MWCNT.And the results of in-situ tensile Raman spectra show that interface properties of microwave cured products was better(3)The mechanism of carbon nanotube reinforced epoxy resin composites on the mechanical properties,heat resistance,thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity was studied via microwave curing.The results showed that with the increase of the content of carbon nanotube,the microwave cured MWCNT/epoxy composites had better dispersion and interfacial properties and the mechanical and thermal properties were gradually increased.But the best enhancement effect of traditional heat curing was with 0.5wt%MWCNT.And thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity were increased with the increase of the content of MWCNT through these two curing methods.But the effect of microwave curing products is more obvious,because it can form a more complete and uniform energy transfer network via microwave curing.
